Pasha's Stomatitis!

Guess where I had to go today..... To the V.E.T. I did not like it a bit. I get very scared. I was hiding my head under Ani's arm when the vet doc went out for a short time. They took my blood. The results are going to travel all the way to Dallas where some nice humans will be making a special cocktail for me. It's supposed to make the boo-boo's in my mouth better. Ani is very hopeful it will work. She says this is pretty much the best option we have. If this doesn't work, they will have to take out all of my teeth. If it works then I'll be able to eat much better and yawn with a full open mouth.

Here I am on my way back, in the car.

You can see inside my mouth waaaaay at the bottom, but don't look at it if you don't want to.

O, noes, your mouth looks so hurty, it makes us sad.
Our nice vet was talking to us about toofies... not ours toofies... but she said cats could do fine wifout toofs.
I fink it was about Bear, mine adopted Mommy, who was a woofie. Hers lost most of hers toofs by the time hers was two years old, way before I knowed her. And she lived to be about 18 years and did fine wifout toofs.
Anyway, we's sending you lots of purrs that you won't need any toofies pulled, but iffen you do, it'll be okay.
Either way, you's gonna feel better soon.
Love,
KC

Oh, my goodness, Pasha, that looks very painful! Don't worry, we know for a fact that you can still eat with no toofies in your mouth. Our mom had a FIV+ kitty once and knows how extra special they, and you, are.

I hope everything will be fixed by what they do in Dallas for you, Pasha. It must be awful for you right now. Keep thinking positively and soon you'll be feeling better, I'm sure.

Pasha, Mario da Cat also had this and has a story in three parts about how he lost his teeth. It might help you to read it. This is the link:

Its one of the top tabs (Where did my toothies go?). We will be purring for you.

Ouch poor Pasha! That mouth looks very sore. Now I'm not a cat with FiV but Calici Virus destroyed my gums and I had to have all my teeth out eventually and guess what? It gave me a new lease of life with out pain. Before, I couldn't yawn properly or lick my fur or even eat without pain. Our vet said it worries humans more than cats for us to have our teef removed.

We hope the cocktail of drugs works to help your mouth Pasha. Have the vets mentioned the drug Interferon to Ani? That's a drug which can really help FiV kitties. There's a Cb cat called Herman who is FiV+ and he is doing well on that medicine. You can visit him at:-
